Abstract

Carrier assisted transport of alkali metal ions (i.e. Na+, K+ and Li+) picrates, dinitro-phenolates and orthonitrophenolates through a bulk liquid membrane (1,2-dichloroethane, chloroform and carbontetrachloride) containing the non cyclic ionophores viz. dipropyleneglycoldibenzoate and triethylen-eglycolbis(2-ethylhexanoate) as carriers has been studied. The cation transport trend through these oligomers is Na+ > K+ > Li+.
