Abstract

There is increasing knowledge regarding demographics, comorbid psychiatric disorders, and symptoms characteristic of males suffering from eating disorders. The current case report describes the history, symptom progression, and successful treatment of an elderly bulimic male whose presentation was atypical. This case underscores the need to consider the presence of an eating disorder regardless of age and gender, when a patient complains of unexplained nausea, abdominal pain, or vomiting.
