Psychomythology is a roof concept which uses the data of modern psychology and mythology. This concept expressing the use of mythological narratives in psychology, was accelerated by Freud's presentation of the Oedipus Complex. Freud, who introduced psychodynamic theory with a mythological story, paved the way for subsequent theorists. Later on, it is possible to say that many theories have benefited from mythological narratives too. In the rewiev, information about psychomitology was given. After giving this information, psychomithological elements were revealed in Buket Uzuner's novel named as Uyumusuz Defne Kaman’in Maceralari: Toprak” and it has been tried to explain with the help of psychodynamic theory. Within this framework, it was identified that Uzuner made a connection between the mythological narratives and the life of today's people. It was put forward with the help of novel characters that Erlik Khan, land symbolics and deer symbol directs both society and individuals generally and individually and it is revealed that many elements of belief continue in today's life.
