Building secure multidimensional data management system

Abstract

Recently, there had been a significant increase in multidimensional data processing technologies popularity. Different areas use such technologies for data aggregation, management and analysis. At the same time there is significant increase in value of confidential data. This leads to a contradiction between ever growing value and importance of confidential information and lack of proper data management systems able to ensure required security level. Inability to ensure privacy of multidimensional data with modern security systems prevents usage and secure processing of such data in large analytical queries. To overcome that, we propose architecture of multidimensional data management system fully able to perform secure processing of multidimensional data. System consists of four main components such as Attribute Service, Proxy-Service, Access Control Service and Data Warehouse. Interaction between those components is described with set of security protocols proposed by authors. Moreover, we propose attribute scheme for multidimensional data in order to ensure protection from non-authorized access to private data. Our system will allow usage of complex queries over private multidimensional data and thus extends scope of multidimensional data management systems.
