Abstract

The article reveals a description of professional training of an intending music teacher based on the principles of the competency-based approach. Key positions of special competence building (professional, subject) are stated. Ways of implementing the competency-based approach in artistic studies are analyzed. A number of substantive competencies covering different types of music activity for students is illustrated. A complex of professional competences, that can be built in the process of choral conducting training as an educational object and type of arts that provides quality of professional preparedness of intending music teacher, is considered. Building a creative competence of intending music teachers includes a wide range of pedagogical tasks involving the entire cycle of artistic disciplines of universities, orientation of musical-educational process on the student’s cultural development, acquiring practical experience, which will allow intending specialists to carry out professional functions successfully in the changing social and cultural conditions, ability to develop independently and implement professional potential acquired in the course of training.Speaking about the competency-based approach, the author means such an approach to training the intending music teacher, which is directed to the implementation of individually-oriented education of the specialist, building its readiness and capacity of the effective carring out the professional activities in the changing environment of cultural and educational markets. It contributes to building and developing key (basic) and special competencies of an individual.
