Abstract

This article describes the importance of peacebuilding efforts in post-conflict Indonesia. In addition to unraveling the cause of conflict, peacebuilding is an effort to avoid new or continued conflict. Peacebuilding theoretical approaches, especially positive peace and nonviolence, help Indonesian communities and societies find the necessary path to peace. One such approach is using local tradition in the form of eating Nasi Tumpeng. This tradition provides a space for interfaith dialogues at the grassroots level to discuss conflicts using the values contained in this eating tradition: strong relational values between humans and God, fellow humans, and the environment.
