Abstract
Abstract: The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) partnered with CVS Health to develop a Minority Scholarship for Pharmacy Students. The collaboration reflected an alignment of goals by the two organizations to promote diversity and support minority students and pharmacists who will care for an increasingly diverse population of patients. The scholarship was created with the recognition that minority students often face additional challenges associated with the cost of education and that diversity in the classroom can have a positive impact on educational and patient-care outcomes. The high number of applications received for a limited number of scholarships per year suggests that there is significant need in the minority community and more needs to be done.
