Abstract
The chemistry department at Queensborough Community College has established a robust research program that involves a multitude of students collaborating with faculty and government agencies on and off campus. This program has led to a large number of presentations at professional conferences as well as a dozen peer-reviewed journal publications in the last eight years. Both students and faculty have created a cohort of individuals that work constructively together irrespective of the differences in their multicultural backgrounds.
