Abstract
Jill Slade is a nurse manager and Rose Hata is a clinical nurse specialist for the surgical intensive care unit at The Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. The authors would like to acknowledge the SICU RNs, SICU intensivists, Cindy Kamikawa, the Hawaii CUSP initiative, the Hawaii State Center for Nursing, and The Queen's Medical Center's Queen Emma Nursing Institute for partnering with them on this important improvement project.
