Abstract

In the course of directing the film Songs of Milarepa, the author became acquainted with the Buddhist rituals and traditions of Mongolian music. Here he shares his impressions and knowledge gained during his visit to Mongolia, as well as observations from his visits to ‘Tibetan’ temples in India, Buryat and Europe.
