Abstract
This paper presents a finite strip method for the stability analysis of rectangular multi-layer sandwich plates. The method permits freedom of in-plane displacements for all the stiff layers, thus excludes the assumption of common shear angle for all cores as adopted in some previous works. Numerical examples of various multi-layer sandwich plates with different boundary conditions and under different edge loadings are included.
