Abstract

This research work deals with the stability phenomena when included in the analysis of semirigid steel trusses. Different rigidities are treated varying from the flexible connection to the fully rigid connection. This research has shown that a certain gain in the weight of steel can be obtained when we use semirigid connections. In this case, it is inevitable to treat the truss members as parts of frame structure, i.e. they are subjected to both normal force and bending moment effect.
