We appreciate the work done by Cardinal L et al (Cardinal L, da Rosa Zimermann G, Mendes FM, Andrade I Jr, Oliveira DD, Dominguez GC. Dehiscence and buccal bone thickness after rapid maxillary expansion in young patients with unilateral cleft lip and palate. Am J Orthod Dentofacial Orthop 2022;162:16-23) evaluating the consequences of 3 different rapid maxillary appliances (RME) on buccal bone thickness and dehiscence in cleft subjects. Although the study is interesting and relevant to clinicians, we would like to put forward a few queries.
