Abstract

Asymmetric and symmetric chevron patterns are analyzed using a continuum model which modified P. K. George’s original model by assuming a uniform magnetization within each block and taking periodic structure for simulating practical propagation patterns. The potential well contours are illustrated over drive field phase of 360°. The potential well dependence on drive field phase angles for small bubble sizes at several points traversing the pattern gap clarifies the gap-tolerance differences between asymmetric and symmetric chevron patterns.
