Abstract

An in vitro system was constructed in order to compare the efficiency of various arterial filters in extracting oxygen bubbles from a perfusion circuit. The bubble release after passage of oxygenated perfusate through the filters was measured by Doppler techniques. All filters tested had a considerable capacity in extracting bubbles from the perfusate which was most pronounced with a depth absorption filter.
