Abstract

This article describes the results of a trial excavation in 1989 on a protohistoric site discovered in the course of a long-term programme of field survey undertaken by the University of Durham in the Aisne valley between 1988-1992. The principal feature uncovered was a small square ditched enclosure which yielded pottery deposits dating to La Tène C2. The function of the enclosure is discussed.
