Abstract

Brown introduced a covariant formulation of the BSSN equations well suited for curvilinear coordinate systems. We solve the BSSN equations in spherical symmetry and the general relativistic hydrodynamic equations written in flux-conservative form using a second-order partially implicit Runge–Kutta method to integrate the evolution equations without any regularization algorithm. Some tests assess the accuracy, numerical stability and expected convergence of the code.KeywordsSpherical SymmetryApparent HorizonCentral DensityExtrinsic CurvatureRiemann SolverThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
