Abstract

On the 14th of May, Canada's federal department for Environment and Climate Change (ECCC) introduced the first draft of the Prohibition of Certain Toxic substances Regulations 2022. The draft proposal contains unprecedented restrictions on the manufacture, use, sale and import of both DBDPE decabromodiphenyl ethane) and products containing DBDPE. BSEF and the American Chemistry Council have reacted as follows:
