Abstract

Primary spinal hydatid cyst account for 1% of all cases of hydatid disease. In Indian literature, few cases are reported. We report a case of 27-year-old immunocompetent Indian male patient presenting with brown sequard syndrome like presentation who later was diagnosed with extramedullary intradural multicystic large hydatid cyst. Following surgical removal of hydatid cyst, he was asymptomatic and was discharged on albendazole. There was no relapse in one year follow up. This case is being reported due to its rarity of occurence and presentation.
