Abstract

Dc polarograms of lead in (4 — x M NaClO 4 + xM NaBr (pH 2, HClO 4) may be complicated by the adsorption of neutral complex PbBr 2 on the surface of mercury electrode. The adsorption follows Frumkin's isotherm. If[Br−]=0.117 M, the adsorption parameters are Γ m=1.35 × 10 −9 mol cm −2, a = 3.9 (or g = 3.58 × 10 12 and β = 1.17 × 10 4 or 6.58 × 10 3M −1 for C* Pb,tot = 5 × 10 −4 M and 1 × 10 −3 M, respectively.
