Abstract

The sensitivity to changes in impeller or spout height and to reductions in PTO speed of midsize tractormountedimpellertype and pendulumtype broadcast spreaders commonly used for commercial turf maintenance such as golf courseswere evaluated. Changes of 13 cm ( 5 in.) in impeller/spout height had no detrimental effect on pattern characteristics. A25% reduction in PTO speed had no detrimental effect on pattern, but a 50% reduction in PTO speed caused patterndeterioration.
