Abstract
The paper describes a radiometric channelised receiver, based on a 500 MHz bandwidth lithium niobate Bragg cell. The unit is capable of detecting CW signals at power levels below the RF front-end thermal noise by a combination of analogue and digital integration. The underlying theory, principles of operation, construction, and performance of the receiver are reported.
