Abstract

Broadband echolocation signals can be used to obtain detailed information about the underwater environment. The work performed by Whitlow W. L. Au on characterizing broadband clicks used by dolphins, studying the capabilities of the dolphin echolocation system, and exploring processing of the reflected signals has been and continues to be an important inspiration to the development and exploration of new echo sounder systems used by scientists world-wide to explore the oceans. This presentation will contain examples on Whit’s invaluable inspiration.
