Abstract

The most famous of the British naturalists to visit Chile is, of course, Charles Darwin (1809–1882). It is well known that Charles Darwin spent time in Chile during the second expedition of the Beagle survey under Robert FitzRoy. Perhaps less well known is just how crucial his time in Chile was for the young naturalist in terms of the early development of the hypotheses and theories that were to have such a huge impact on his world, and ours.KeywordsNatural History MuseumBritish NaturalistChilean GovernmentYoung NaturalistRoyal Geographical SocietyThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
