Abstract

Diolinete del C. Gerena Col?n grew up attending public school in Puerto Rico and stayed on the island while obtaining a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering and an M.S. degree in aerospace mechanical engineering from Recinto Universitario de Mayag?ez and the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico (PUPR), respectively. Today, she is a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the PUPR. She says she is proud to be "100% Puerto Rican," adding that the advantages to living on the island are enormous. "It is like living in a paradise."
