Abstract

Aim: In 2007 the Alberta government, with support from Health Canada, announced an initiative to improve access and decrease waiting times for health services in Alberta. This led to the initiation of a project termed the “Radiation Therapy Corridor (RTC)” with a goal to implement RT facilities in Lethbridge (JACC), Red Deer (CACC), and Grande Prairie (GPCC). The vision of the RTC is to “provide all Albertans requiring radiation therapy services for cancer and other diseases with integrated, high-quality, and safe care”.
