Abstract

Abstract We shall start this chapter by considering a three-dimensional Brillouin zone, which will serve us as an example in order to study the properties of the Brillouin zone faces. After this, we shall go back to a one-dimensional example so as to be able to discuss in detail various schemes which are used in order to plot energy bands and Fermi surfaces in k space.
