Abstract

In order to improve the image quality of an image with reduced visibility, it is necessary to perform image processing such as brightness correction and sharpening. As a method for improving the visibility of this image, unsharp masking by local projection brightness that emphasizes contrast by using brightness that reflects local color changes while preserving hue has been proposed. In this method, however, block noises are occurred in the image by the excessive emphasis. In this study, we proposed a novel sharpening and saturation enhancement method using an Equi-Hue Plane that has the same hue as the input pixels. The effectiveness of the proposed method has been verified through the various experiments.
