Abstract
Neuropsychiatric and mental health disorders, including schizophrenia, major depressive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and substance use disorder, are highly debilitating conditions and are increasingly common. There is heightened interest in identifying novel therapies to cure these disorders. Jerry Madukwe, the Editor-in-Chief of Trends in Pharmacological Sciences (TIPS) asked expert clinicians and researchers, from academia and industry, passionate in understanding these disorders and finding new treatments, about the origins of their interest and to reflect on some of the global challenges and opportunities for novel therapy discovery.
