Abstract

Mortar is a homogeneous mixture use for masonry and plastering etc. This mixture comprises of binding material, fine-aggregate and water. The brick kiln burnt dust (BKBD) is a waste product of the brick industry facing big problem of disposal due to its harmful effect in the environment and for humans. In this experimental work we are using of this waste on the partial replacement of fine aggregate with natural sand at ratio 0%, 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% & 50% mixed with 0.45 W/C. The paper presents the compressive strength at 7,14 and 28 days and useful solution for brick manufacturing industries and construction companies in terms of reducing the impact of BKBD and also in reducing the cost of construction because Brick Kiln Burnt Dust(BKBD) available free of cost. The results are showing the compressive strength increasing with increase of percentage of BKBD in mortar.
