Abstract

In this paper, we have investigated 2-D spatial breather pair formation in a holographic medium, wherein the beams are solely affected by cross action effect, self action effect is absent. We have shown coupled propagation, by plotting an existence surface for soliton pairing in the parameter space of power and width ratio of the two beams. The parameter space of power and width ratio of the two beams away from an existence surface provides “breather pairs”. It is seen that, in contrast to coupled breather pair propagation in a Kerr medium or in an electromagnetically induced transparent (EIT) medium, a holographic medium offers quite stable propagation to these breathers.
