Abstract

A perfusion lung scan (Tc-99m MAA) was performed on a woman during the last month of pregnancy. The posterior view was within normal limits. On the anterior image, considerable activity was seen in the breasts. This was due to free Tc-99m pertechnetate, as shown by activity in both the thyroid and the stomach. The Tc-99m MAA had been made with pertechnetate that was close to its expiration date.
