Abstract
Ultrasound computed tomography (USCT) has become a useful means of breast cancer imaging detection. In this paper, a novel breast ultrasound tomography system based on capacitive micromachined ultrasonic transducer (CMUT) linear arrays is built. Implementation method of parallel beam filtered back-projection algorithm in the background of USCT is derived. The feasibility of breast ultrasound tomography system based on CMUT and the applicability of image reconstruction algorithm are preliminarily proved by simulation experiment and breast phantom experiment. Sound speed image and sound impedance image are fused to obtain the breast ultrasound tomography image with edge information and structure information simultaneously. According to experimental results, size reconstruction deviation of simulated tumor in the breast phantom is about 14%, which is reduced by 57.14% after multimodal image fusion ultimately. The research results in this study provide the theoretical basis and technical support for the application of CMUT in the field of medical imaging.
