Abstract

Hydatid cyst a parasitic disease which is caused by larval stages of cestodes of Echinococcus family (“Echinococcus granulosus” or “Echinococcus multilocularis”). Most commonly it involves liver and lungs; however it can occur¬ in unusual locations like spleen, psoas muscles, mesentery, ovary, inguinal region and breast. Breast hydatid are very rare and are often masquerade as tumoral lesion of breast. In literature, few reports of breast hydatid are published and nearly all cases have been diagnosed post operatively. Purpose is to bring clinical and radiological character of this rare entity to the clinician’s and radiologist’s awareness.
