Abstract
Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women in Russia and is the leading cause of oncological deaths in Russia. Only 60 percent of breast cancer is diagnosed at a localized stage. The five-year survival of breast cancer patients in Russia is worse than in the USA. The median survival of advanced breast cancer patients treated by chemotherapy is 29 months, and by endocrine preparations is 33 months. The attainable goal of our ongoing efforts in treatment is to achieve a median survival of 48 months for advanced breast cancer patients.
