Abstract

It is commonly admitted that resolution is limited to one-fourth of the seismic bandwidth which is often too coarse to resolve thin layering inside a reservoir. We present an application where a special form of seismic inversion has been able to retrieve layers as thin as 1/20th of the seismic bandwidth on synthetic data based on the real field of Tunu (Indonesia).
