Abstract

It is important to understand the significance oflanguage training for residents to enhancecommunication between healthcare providers andpatients. Language barriers can result in adverseoutcomes like medical errors and reduced patientsatisfaction. Effective language training can helpresidents to communicate better with patients, leadingto improved patient-centered care, job satisfaction, andreduced burnout. However, language training programsoften face challenges like funding constraints, timeconstraints, and finding qualified trainers. To overcomethese obstacles, alternative funding sources and onlinelanguage training can be implemented. Residencyprograms must prioritize language training to ensurethat residents possess the skills required tocommunicate effectively with patients who speakdifferent languages
