Abstract
Residual stress and fatigue specimens with a diameter of 45 mm steel 40KhN after running roller investigated. Revealed the thickness layer with compressive residual stress is 1 mm, the axial residual stress is 1.8 times higher than the county and to the surface of the slow-down stress by 20 %. Fatigue tests of notched specimens radius 3 mm after DFND roller have shown that the fatigue limit is increased in the case when the depth of cut is three times the thickness of a layer of compressive residual stress, and the quantitative relationship between the residual stress and endurance limit is well reflected using the criterion of average integral residual stresses
