Abstract
This article presents the BRCLightning software developed as a database made available online and that can be accessed through various types of devices - desktops, laptops, tablets and smartphones. Therefore, it incorporates a responsive configuration to serve in an appropriate, objective, secure, safe, agile and easy way. The software has its interface organized as forms developed in the languages: Portuguese and English, which is defined in the login. This software was developed to meet the demands of engineers, design companies or those who need to manage Lightning Protection System - LPS - installed in their units, in addition to professionals qualified to develop design and diagnostics of these kinds of systems. It incorporates the requirements established in three Standards used in the conception of traditional lightning protection, which are: the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards-ABNT; International Electrotechnical Commission - IEC and the American National Fire Protection Association - NFPA. The architecture is composed of 4 Modules, whose functionalities are: the risk analysis to process the identification and quantify the risks arising from atmospheric discharges to the earth that can be dangerous to people, structures and power and signal lines established in the previously mentioned Standards; the sizing by the rolling spheres method and the angle methods, these two use the methodology of the mathematical approach developed by BRC engineering and one of the reports with groups of filters for issuing different report formats.
