Abstract

The «unfreezing» of world political processes that follows after the end of COVID-19 pandemics will be accompanied by the growing number of security challenges. It means the necessity to find effective solutions which are based first on the coordination be-tween the most powerful international actors. We cannot access the potential of this bi- and multilateral cooperation without the exploration of its experience at the «long step» (1990-s – 2010-s). The article explores the features and «narrow places» of the dialogue between Germany and Brazil in political-military sphere first of all from German positions. The author studies the first attempts to achieve new quality of dialogue in 1990-s and the difficulties on this way. The scientific paper covers German tactics aimed at accelerated rise of bilateral relations during Schröder`s chancellorship. In this regard special attention is paid to the cooperation between Germany and Brazil in the question of the UN Security Council reform. The article demonstrates the dynamics of German-Brazil relations during Merkel`s chancellorship. The declaration of strategic partnership (2008) and the launch of the intergovernmental consultations format (2015) were not backed up by the sufficient volumes of bilateral practical cooperation. The scientific paper issues the reasons of the degradation of the relations during Bolsonaro`s presidency. In this regard the author shows German practical attempts to relaunch the dialogue by the beginning of 2020-s.
