Abstract

The branching ratio for the isoscalar transition 2+, T=1, 1.95 MeV to 0+, T=1, 0.66 MeV in 22Na was measured as (0.29+or-0.05)% of the total decays of the 1.95 MeV level. This, together with the measured mean-life of this level, gives an E2 strength of (16+or-5) Wu, in good agreement with the estimate of 18 Wu obtained from the analogue transitions in 22Ne and 22Mg assuming a linear relationship between M(E2) and Tz. Upper limits for some weak decay branches in 19F were also obtained.
