Abstract

The brake orbits of Hamiltonian systems are studied. It is proved that if the Hamiltonian H H is super-quadratic and satisfies H ( − p , q ) = H ( p , q ) H(-p,q)=H(p,q) for all ( p , q ) ∈ R 2 n (p,q)\in \mathbf {R}^{2n} , the system has an unbounded sequence of brake orbits for any given period.
