Abstract

Combination of Bragg-Fresnel optics with high brilliance X-ray beams provided by third generation synchrotron radiation sources like ESRF demonstrated unprecedented and very promising performance in terms of efficiency, resolution, energy tunability and stability. Low emittance and quite small angular source size of the X-ray beam at the ESRF allow along with microprobe techniques like microdiffraction and microfluorescence, new fields of applications such as high resolution diffraction, holography, interferometry and phase contrast imaging based on Bragg-Fresnel optics tobe realized. New types of Bragg-Fresnel optical systems have been designed and tested: linear curved Bragg Fresnel lens (BFL); linear BFL composed of 1st and 3d order of diffraction; circular BFL with ultrasound modulation.
