Abstract

BRAF gene, located in chromosome 7q34, encodes a serine/threonine protein kinase of 67-99 kilodalton which plays an important regulating role in the pathway of mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK). Recent studies have revealed the relationship between BRAF gene mutation and cutaneous melanoma. Some progress has been made in the research about BRAF gene-targeting therapy. To study BRAF gene and its mutation may benefit the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis evaluation of melanoma. Key words: Melanoma; Gene,BRAF; Mutation
