Abstract

Background: Infertility affects more than one in 10 couples worldwide, but it is not well understood. Myofascial release techniques emerge as promising, but there are no studies. Aims: To describe the performance of a specific intracavitary myofascial release technique for the deep pelvis on endometrial growth. Method: The Broad Ligament Maneuver (BLM) was performed during five 10-minute sessions on consecutive days. Endometrial thickness was measured by transvaginal ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging, before and after the intervention. Results: The thickness of the endometrium was previously 3.0 and 3.7 mm. After the intervention it increased to 18.7 mm (505.4% increase). Symptoms of endometriosis, dysmenorrhea, constipation, painful urination and sexual pain disappeared after the intervention. Conclusion: The BLM produced a 500% growth of the endometrium and eliminated the symptoms of endometriosis, dysmenorrhea, constipation, sexual and urinary pain. Most of the current idiopathic pelvic diseases must simply be of myofascial origin, a problem for which there is already effective treatment. New studies on this matter are urgently needed.
