Abstract

The “founder text” is the text that ensures the formation of a new genre, style and tradition in terms of literary life. In other words, they are texts that build a new way in thought and art. These texts give unusual meanings to concepts, suggest new methods and principles, and describe and analyze the time living in. But while doing this, they are texts that do not neglect to feed on historical truths. Sometimes expressions such as “root text” and “base text” are used in place of the founder text. The meaning implied in all three nomenclatures is almost the same. These texts, on the one hand, created a tradition by influencing large masses in the period they were copyrighted, as well as deeply affecting the literary and social life in the later periods. Vesîletü’n-Necât is a founding text that has been read, translated, written and annotated in a wide cultural geography for six hundred years. This work is literally a masterpiece. In this paper, some evaluations will be made about the “founding” character of the work. In particular, the literary value of the work will be pointed out and the direction of establishing national unity will be pointed out.
