Abstract

In this study, institutional events which are composed from scientific, social and cultural events were evaluated based on students’ opinions. Since there aren’t enough studies which may lead to the event applications of universities, it is not well known if these events meet the requirements of students and if they are content with these events. Based on this requirement, the problem of the study is if these events carried out at Anadolu University are beneficiary for students, the cultural events course affect the attendance of students and the events are enough and suitable to their objectives. The study is important in that the events provide a strong communication between the university and students and universities make use of these events in order to create a strong image as to their future plans The aim of the study was to evaluate the participation of students to these scientific, social and cultural events in the course of cultural events at Anadolu University. The study was applied to undergraduate and graduate students studying at the last grade of Anadolu University and data were collected via a questionnaire and in the data analysis process, frequency, percentage and cross tabs were used. As a results of the study, it was found out that they thought the events were fruitful for them, they attended and liked cultural and artistic events more, they asked more educational and sporting events, they mainly used printed materials and the internet to be informed, cultural events course increased the attendance of students to these events and the students were content with the events.
