Abstract

Objective The purpose of this pilot study is to determine to what degree BPTRU monitoring correlates with 24 h ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) in comparison to routine clinic BP measurement in hypertensive patients in India. Methods 20 patients who were referred for 24 h ABPM for the evaluation of suspected white coat hypertension or to assess control of blood pressure underwent routine clinic BP measurement by physician by sphygmomanometer as well as by oscillometric method using the automated device called BPTRU (made by VSM Tech, Vancouver, Canada).
