Abstract

The Poultry work carried on through the Boys and Girls Clubs in the Province of Manitoba has probably been a greater factor in stimulating an interest in poultry keeping for the younger generation than any other single line of work yet attempted. The history of these poultry clubs does not date back as far as that of some of our sister provinces or States, but in the two years, during which they have been in operation they have accomplished a good deal. Eight of these clubs were organized in May, 1913, and over 3,000 eggs distributed, and although it was late in the season for getting a good start, still the results were so satisfactory that in the Spring of 1914, an additional nineteen clubs were organized and 12,564 eggs distributed.
