Bunk teaches in the History Department at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. His work has focused on the intersection of race, ethnicity, and sport, and he has published articles on these topics in the Journal of Sport History, the Journal of Urban History, and Sport in History. He is currently researching the history of soccer in the United States.
